Oct Has Been Good

Hi Folks,

I have some more updates, October has been a good month! Maybe the weather at this time of the year, specially this year has been very helpful.

Also being able to work within your home is also helpful. I have done some lidded jars in the last two weeks. One came very nice (picture below).

I was particularly happy with the ratios and the clean lines I was able to achieve. The Lid could be bit better and I still need to work on making the pots lighter than what I am doing at the moment.

I have got better with trimming and specially getting the foot right! Well as Simon Leach says ... keep practicing... :-)

The pots I have done will have to wait most likely till Dec to get bisque fired. This is busy season at Anandgram and hence I am unable to get a firing slot.

I signed up for a workshop end Nov, this is by Ric and Judy from Australia and I look forward to some good action end Nov.

Nope I have not given up!

Yes its been long time since I posted anything here, but action has not stopped. Over the last many months, many things changed. It comes and goes, but once the clay starts going through your hands, everything floods back!

Just to let you all know, I joined pottery classes at Anandgram, New Delhi. I think it was important for me to balance individual work and learning with a group under supervision. This went on for a few months and I think I gained a lot with close supervision from Arun who teaches at Anandgram.

I also moved my wheel into my home. Not wanting to travel 30 mins one way to work. And then there were changes in my professional life which kept me away from both classes at Anandgram as well as my individual work.

But things are falling into place now. I have started to throw steadily over last month or so at home. I am also all set to attend a 5 day workshop end Nov and I am looking forward to that one.

Here in the picture you can see me experimenting with texture. I am looking forward to some good action over next 4 months. I also plan to me more active here and post more regularly.
